I am very interested in seeing what the Blues do with great expectations upon there shoulders. Last season they were the underdogs that nobody believed in but this year they are the media darlings and are in the spot light. I dont think it is possible for Elliot and Halak to play out of their minds like again like last season.
I really think the Hawks are the class of the division and feel that the division will finish like this:

Last year Babcock said we were only going as far as the kids (Helm, Abdelkader ect..) carried them. If anything we need a couple of veteran skill players.

Helm.Abdelkdaer are not skilled younger players. they are younger players but very good 3rd liners/grinders.

I am ready to see Z, Dastyuk, Franzen, Filpulla and then all youth. We don't need vets any more as we are no longer a cup contender, time for new blood, new identity.

nope we have to play samuelsson and superstar brunner and guys like mursak/emmerton who really bring nothing, to me mursak/emmerton dont bring anything. Mursak is a speed guy,ok? what else does he do? nothing. Emmerton is a center?ok he takes faceoffs. these two players have little to no impact on the game.
Cleary? hes healthy,ok? hes been solid in the past but looks way past his prime.

also, its only one game.

yes, because there is all kinds of Lidstrom's just kicking around for him to get. The guy has made this team a cup contender since 97.

WITH Lidstrom in the lineup we lost 10-3 to these guys 2 yrs ago. We have too many just no moving tonight, while the Blues are out to prove something.

Funny Wingz4life, I have asked you more than 6 times what he should have done but you never responded. -- I don't like the looks of some vets out there, but it is night 1 of many.

Adjustment periods going on around the league, I do agree to let the young lads go, but Lidstrom is gone, he made a pitch for Suter... and Nashville was matching anything... there was no "plan" because there were no "options" other than what he did.

Unless the plan was to trade Datsyuk or Zetterberg 2-3 yrs ago, then yes there was no plan.

I like what I just saw out of Tootoo and Smith. Boys gettin' physical and then we had some good shifts. We need WAY more of that from now on.

A few trades for big tough guys are needed.
